Uimahallista

Syntymäpäiväni sujui maanantaina 20.10. kunnallisvaaliteeman puitteissa. Tampereella kahvila Aniitan kahvituksessa oli yli 200 kävijää ja mukana oli kymmenkunta tamperelaista kokoomusehdokasta. Vaalit kiinnostavat selvästi ainakin vanhempaa väestöä ja kysymyksiä satelikin Tampereen rantatunnelista veteraanien asioihin. Kaikkineen ihmiset olivat hyvällä tuulella.
Syntymäpäivä jatkui illalla Aamulehden vaalikäräjillä Sylvään koululla Vammalassa. Iltaa hallitsi keskustelu tulevista investoinneista. Vastakkain olivat kaikki mahdolliset toisistaan täysin riippumattomat asiat. Teknikumin halliakin sotkettiin uimahalliin. Vaikka ensimmäisessä on kyse työpaikkojen ja verotulojen turvaamisesta ja jälkimmäisessä verotulojen käyttämisestä.
Väkeä oli paikalla lähes kaksi sataa eli joukossa oli jo mukana äänestäjiäkin, ei vain ehdokkkaita. Yleisön piirissä suurin perustelu uimahallin rakentamiselle oli se, että asiaa on valmisteltu vuosikymmenet eli tarkalleen 41 vuotta. Päätös pitää kuitenkin tehdä todellisen tarpeen, eikä tunteen pohjalta. Ainoa todellinen argumentti uuden hallin puolesta oli se, että Kiikan halli ei sovellu liikuntaesteisille, mikä pitää kiistatta paikkansa. Tosin sitäkin asiaa voidaan auttaa Hoikkaa hyödyntämällä, kuten jo tehdäänkin.
Varsin erikoista oli se, että joukossa oli niitä, joiden mielestä palloiluhalli pitää tehdä vasta uimahallin jälkeen, vaikka uimahallin tekeminen kestäisi kuinka pitkään. Se olisi huono uutinen urheilevan nuorison kannalta. Ihmeellistä se on siksikin, että palloiluhalli maksaa vain kolmanneksen uimahallista ja käyttökustannukset katetaan lähes kokonaan salimaksuvuoksilla, kun uimahalli vie arviolta 500000 euroa veronmaksajan rahaa joka vuosi.
Ei kai kotitalouksissakaan ole niin, että jos raha ei riitä ostamaan moottoripyörää ja siihen bensaa, niin ei saisi ostaa polkupyörääkään. Viisainta olisi tehdä palloiluhalli välittömästi nyt, kun rakennuskustannukset laskevat ja tehdä samaan yhteyteen esimerkiksi Sylväälle kevennetty versio uimahallista myöhemmin. Yhteiskäyttö lisäisi myös uimahallin kävijämäärää huomattavasti.

Olen samaa mieltä uimahalli/palloiluhalli asiasta kanssasi sikäli, että nyt niillä “kuvilla,” mitkä uimahallista on tehty ja siihen paikkaan minne aie on, ei pidä uimahallia rakentaa! Kun tämä kuvientekoaikakin ja rahat olisi käytetty Sylvään koulun alueen kaavamuutokseen (vesistöön täyttömaalle rakentaminen ), niin nyt me todella pääsisimme rakennuskustannusten laskusuhdanteen imuun ja voisimme toteuttaa kokonaissuunnitelmasta toisen kohtapuoliin (minun puolesta palloilu-/uimahalli, kumpi vain ensin). Luuelnpa, että toinenkin tulisi perässä melko piankin, parissa vaalikaudessa, ja varmasti alle 40 vuoden. Järki käteen ja kaavaa muuttamaan nopeasti, muuten edullisen rakentamisen imu menee taas ohi.
